Meet Regina

 

Regina English is a wife, mother of five, grandmother of ten, and Godmother of four despite a very demanding life. Regina loves spending time with her family, traveling, shopping, playing basketball, fashion modeling, and making others laugh and smile with her infectious humor.

 

Regina holds the title Mrs. El Paso County 2023. In addition, she will be competing in the Mrs. Colorado America Pageant in April 2023 for the state title Mrs.Colorado America 2023, where she will be representing married women. Education is at the forefront of Regina’s mission. She advocates for all scholars and is passionate about equity in education and creating a space for all scholars to thrive. She is modeling the behaviors she would like to see as a current Doctoral candidate.

Regina currently serves as the Treasurer of the Harrison School District Two Board of Education and Vice-President of the Colorado Black Caucus of School Board Directors. She is a solid, consistent voice for our scholars.

Regina is passionate about serving her community and making a meaningful impact, ensuring that we all have a better quality of life and live in healthy, safe, and clean neighborhoods. Regina is an inspiration to us all! Her life motto is: “Stay Ready, So You Don’t Have To Get Ready.”

Education

Education for Regina is paramount for what she has been called to do. Currently working to complete her Doctorate degree in Organizational Leadership on track to become  Dr. Regina English in January 2023.

Regina has obtained:

  • Associate's Degree in Chemical Dependency/Drug and Alcohol Counseling

  • Bachelor's DegreeManagement

  • Master’s Degree in Public Administration

Some would call Regina a pioneer as she has birthed organizations and foundations that have exceeded the status quo. Where there was no lane, Regina has created one through these well-known and successful organizations as the Founder and President:

My African American Miss, LLC – A pageant system for young African American ladies.

Our scholarship organization is devoted to training young African American women through the sport of pageantry to be ambassadors, advocates, change agents, and community leaders who operate in excellence with a commitment to be fabulous on purpose!   Yes, M.A.A.M. provides an opportunity for young women to thrive and display their talents through pageantry.  We foster a sisterhood for young ladies to build healthy relationships and embrace qualities that make them great. Our motto is  “Stay Ready so that you don’t  have to Get Ready.”

Be U is a nonprofit leadership organization mentoring young ladies and young men using the vehicles of community service, life skills, education, coaching, mentoring, and making resources available to influence excellence and a positive community impact. Our number one mission is to provide access and opportunity for young people to display their talents and amplify their voices to create change in a meaningful way.

Be You Life Coaching will help you maximize your full potential, push you to identify your strengths, create achievable goals, and reach your desired results.  This program will hold you accountable for your goals and encourage you throughout your journey.  You will become the best version of yourself! We offer creative partnerships to everyone that desires to transition to the next level of greatness in their life by defining a vision for success.

  • Implemented free before and after school care for all K-5 students

  • Increased staff retention by 125%

  • Developed eLearning school to provide options for parents

  • Advocate and support programs for restorative practices

  • Provide 2 years of free college or career programs at PPCC for all graduating seniors

  • Earned over $9 million in grants to support student learning

  • Continued increased graduate rates

  • Students of color have exceeded their peers in graduation rates in other local school districts.

  • Graduated 60+ students with an associate's degree, and over 50 students are Dakota Promise Scholar recipients.

  • HSD2 graduation rates are above in the state

  • Multiple opportunities to support diversity

  • Support students and staff in attending Educating Children of Color and Diversity University + The African American Youth Leadership Conference

  • Reduce barriers to learning for all students: free school supplies, free transportation, free breakfast, free lunch, free sports, free laptops, free enrichment, free tutoring
